Peter's World Book Day Costume

3rd Mar 2017

World Book Day took place this year on Thursday the 2nd of March and it was celebrated in St Mary's Primary School today when everyone in the school dressed up as their chosen character for the day. Everyone in the school had fantastic costumes, we spoke to one of the pupils in P4 Peter Mc Creedy who put lots of effort into his wonderful costume, Peter had this to say about his costume, "For World Book Day my mum and I decided to create the character of Grandpa from the book of Grandpa's Great Escape by David Walliams as it is my favourite book. It took daddy and I one week to make the costume because we had to cut the cardboard to make an aeroplane. After we made the aeroplane we coloured it in to match the design of the aeroplane in the book. After the aeroplane was made we gathered together materials and clothing for my costume to look like Grandpa from the story. It was tough work to make the costume but it was worth it because I loved how the costume turned out and everyone in school was amazed when they saw my fantastic costume."
