Knockmany Cup Success

19th Jun 2026

Well done to all the children who participated in the Knockmany Cup today at Fr Hackett Park.

It was a truly historic day for our boys’ team, who captured the Ben Sherry Shield following a succession of outstanding performances. Remaining undefeated throughout the entire tournament, the team demonstrated immense determination, resilience, and belief in their ability. Their success was built on exceptional teamwork, with each player supporting one another and contributing to a remarkable collective effort. This achievement is a testament not only to their skill, but to their character and commitment.

Special recognition must go to Mr McAleer for his exceptional coaching and leadership. His dedication, preparation, and ability to inspire the team were instrumental in this significant success. His guidance has clearly played a pivotal role in developing both the confidence and quality within the squad.

Thank you also to Miss Fox for her coaching of the girls’ team, and to Mr Neill and Mrs Kilpatrick for their support.

The children across the wider school community were absolutely thrilled to welcome both teams back, sharing in the pride of what has been a memorable and inspiring day for all.

The boys and girls were especially proud to wear their new jerseys, which they designed themselves. We extend our sincere and heartfelt thanks to Aghaloo Gaelic Football Club for their outstanding generosity in sourcing and delivering these beautiful jerseys to our school. Their ongoing support is very much appreciated.
