A Beautiful Celebration of Grandparents’ Day at Aghaloo Community Centre
Grandparents’ Day was a truly special and joyful occasion. As part of Catholic Schools Week, our whole school community reflected on the theme “Normal Lives, Called to Holiness,” recognising that holiness is found in everyday moments of love, kindness, and care — values so beautifully lived out by our grandparents.
The children were proud to welcome their grandparents and to celebrate the vital role they play in family life, faith, and the passing on of values. Through prayer, reflection, and shared time together, we honoured the love, wisdom, and example grandparents give so generously to their grandchildren.
A special thank you to Fr Cathal for leading a meaningful prayer service, and to our pupils who helped make the day so memorable. We also held close in our thoughts grandparents who could not be with us, remembering them with gratitude and prayer.
The celebration continued with warm conversation over tea, sandwiches, and treats, creating a lovely atmosphere of togetherness and community. It was a heart‑warming day that truly reflected the spirit of St Mary’s.
